Salon owner Carla has been proudly teaching and growing team members for 21 years after starting Hair Art & Beauty in 1996. She has found working on the salon floor as well as running the business to be such a rewarding (and tiring!) experience, made worth it by seeing all the amazing results from her team. She is so excited to see her vision come to life when we open the new spa next door and completely re-fit the current salon. She is hoping for even more growth and to make some wonderful memories along the way!

Megan grew up in Gore, then moved to Christchurch for high school and has been here ever since. She started hairdressing at 14, shampooing, sweeping and providing client care in a salon until she was 17, when she started her apprenticeship. Megan has been part of the H&B team for over 3 years, and in her final year as an apprentice she was the national runner up for the Jasmine McBeth hairdressing scholarship, awarded to apprentices who show incredible skill, dedication and passion.
Her favourite thing about hairdressing is making people feel amazing, and giving them hair that makes them feel fabulous and confident. She specialises in beautiful blondes and long hair styling/hair ups.

Clementine is from Lyons, France, and started her hairdressing career 13 years ago in Paris. She has travelled around the world, working as a stylist in France, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand which has allowed her to really improve her technical skill set on an international level. She is passionate about colouring, particularly balayage and foil work, and one of her favourite services is the keratin blow out – she loves how it instantly makes the hair smoother and healthier. Clementine is also an experienced men’s hairdresser and enjoys giving guys a suave new style.

Salon Assistant Toni was born and raised in rural Southland, spending the first 20 years of her life there before moving to the big city. She has been part of the H&B team for nearly 4 years. She has two teenage children, and a cat who acts like a naughty child. She loves to travel, and hopes to do some jetsetting in the future. Not only does Toni give a great hand massage and make an awesome coffee, she is also REALLY good at drawing swans.

Emily was born in England to Kiwi parents, and moved to New Zealand when she was 4. She grew up in Queenstown, and worked in tourism for 7 years, before completing her Salon Support course and her Small Business Management qualification. Emily has been in the hair and beauty industry for over 6 years, and offers event make up and dip powder nails at H&B. She is a make up addict, ESPECIALLY lipsticks, and you’ll often see her wearing a bright lippie around the salon.

Stylist Sandy has been hairdressing for many years now, and she still loves every minute. Her loyal clientele has been with her for a long time, some bringing their children, and even grandchildren in for haircuts! She has been given the title of perm-queen in the in the salon, and it is definitely well deserved. She finds perming really fun, and is an expert in placement techniques to achieve different perm effects. She has a dog and cat, who keep her busy, and she loves to spend her free time in her beautiful garden.

Debbie was born and bred in Christchurch, and has been with H&B for over 2 years. She is a shopaholic, and loves her dog, Bear. Her favourite salon service is the at-basin ampoule treatment, because it leaves your hair feeling incredible and is a great addition to any hair appointment.

Luana is a very experienced beauty therapist who has been at Hair Art & Beauty for over 8 years, and her passion for beauty therapy and care of her clients is still as strong as when she started. She loves to perform all aspects of her job to a high standard, and enjoys seeing her clients relaxed and satisfied with the results of her treatments, which is so important to her.

Maureen has worked in the beauty industry for nearly 20 years now, and this experience plus her passion for beauty therapy is a winning combination. She has two boys, who keep her young at heart. Her favourite services are facials, because she really enjoys helping people resolve their skin concerns, and loves that someone can walk into her room feeling busy and stressed, and leave an hour later feeling relaxed and amazing.

Christchurch-born Mckenzie started at Hair Art & Beauty 6 years ago as a receptionist while studying at uni, then she was offered the position of Office Administrator, which she gladly accepted. She has loved seeing the salon grow and change throughout the years and working with an amazing team. Mckenzie loves the keratin blowout service, especially on her thick wavy hair – it leaves it more manageable, silky smooth AND cuts her blowdry time in half.
