I started in hairdressing at 11 in my aunt’s UK salon and went on to qualify, work as an educator for top brands, and eventually open my own salon. After moving to New Zealand in the early 2000s, I became a hairdressing tutor before founding Hair Art & Beauty—a space built on creativity, care, and continuous growth.

Today, I’m proud to lead an award-winning, eco-conscious salon known for its high standards, supportive team culture, and personalised client experience. Education and sustainability are at the heart of everything we do, helping us grow with purpose.

Outside the salon, you’ll find me with my family, my partner, and our cat Tilly—or walking on the beach to reset and refocus.

Hi, I’m Megan – a colour specialist with 11 years in the industry and a passion for creating beautiful, personalised results.

I’m known for my work with blondes, whether it’s bright foils, seamless balayage, or soft, low-maintenance colour. Long hair is my thing, and I love tailoring each look to suit my clients’ style and goals.

Ongoing education keeps me inspired and sharp behind the chair, and I’m proud to deliver results that leave clients feeling confident and refreshed. When I’m not in the salon, I’m a proud mum of two, soaking up the chaos and joy of family life.

Emily

I’m Emily, H&B’s Salon Coordinator. I’ve worked in the hair and beauty industry for about 15 years, and while I love keeping everything running smoothly around the salon, my real passion is the why behind hair and skincare. Learning the science, problem-solving, and helping people feel good in their own skin is what excites me most.

Since joining H&B, I’ve had incredible opportunities to grow that side of things - like becoming Australasia’s first non-beauty therapist to achieve Ultraceuticals Skin Expert qualification, and travelling to Germany to meet the brilliant cosmetic chemists behind La Biosthetique. When I’m not at work, I love to get creative – painting, sculpting, embroidery, you name it! If I’m not doing something crafty, I’m spending time with my partner, Thom, and our ginger cat.

Hi, I’m Champagne-Anne – your go-to beauty and self-care specialist. I’m passionate about helping you feel confident in your skin, offering personalised treatments that deliver real results. From targeted facials and Dermapen skin needling to our signature Pink Treatment and advanced techniques, I tailor every service to your unique skin goals. I also specialise in creating flawless brows and love educating clients on home care so they can maintain their results between visits. I’m easy to talk to, always attentive, and here to support you on your skin journey.
Outside the salon, I love discovering new places, going for drives, and – most of all – enjoying amazing food!

Hi, I’m Toni, the friendly salon assistant you’ll often see supporting our stylists on the floor. I’m passionate about scalp health and love helping clients feel their best with personalised care from the roots up.

I also take an active role in our sustainability efforts, making sure H&B stays committed to eco-friendly practices. It’s important to me that every client enjoys a great experience in a salon that cares—for both people and the planet.

I’ve been lucky enough to be part of the H&B team for 13 years now, and it’s truly a joy to work alongside such confident, capable, and inspiring women. The supportive team environment here is something I genuinely love being a part of. I live in North Canterbury with my partner and our three kids, including our newest little addition, baby Violet, who joined us in 2024. You’ll find me in the salon part-time, and the rest of the week I’m on the farm, soaking up family life.

Luana Smart

Hi, I’m Luana. I’ve been with Hair Art & Beauty for over 15 years and love the variety this role brings. Working with La Biosthetique’s results-focused skincare allows me to deliver real, lasting benefits to my clients while creating a calm and personalised experience. Outside of the salon, I’m a proud grandmother to four beautiful grandchildren. They, along with great skincare, help keep me feeling young!

I’m Gary, with over a decade of experience in beauty, spa, and massage. Holding a Diploma in Beauty Therapy and Applied Aesthetics, plus training in massage, aromatherapy, reflexology, and herbal studies, I take a holistic approach to every treatment. My massage style is intuitive and tailored, blending techniques like deep tissue, myofascial release, lymphatic drainage- and even lomi lomi- to suit each client. Many say I have ‘healing hands.’
