Faces of H&B: Our Very First Community Shoot
Yesterday we wrapped our first ever Faces of H&B shoot, and we are still buzzing!
This project started with a simple idea: to celebrate real people. We put a call out on our social channels and invited anyone to apply. No modelling portfolios required. We wanted a mix of ages, skin tones, and body shapes, because that is who our clients are, and that is who we want to champion.

How it worked
- Applications rolled in via social media, and we shortlisted four lovely models.
- Each person came in for a pre-shoot appointment to be primped and tidied. Nothing heavy, just enhancing what is already there.
- Yesterday, everyone returned for the full shoot day: prep, styling, and then time in front of the camera.
Behind the scenes, we explored new lighting setups, tried a few fresh techniques, and created a bank of images we cannot wait to share across our website and socials. It was collaborative, relaxed, and full of those little moments that remind you why you love this work: nervous smiles turning into confident poses, a laugh between takes, and that first gasp when someone sees themselves lit just right.
Why “Faces of H&B”?
Faces of H&B is about representation. We want our imagery to feel like a true reflection of our community: welcoming, diverse, and real. These shoots give us space to:
- Showcase the team’s craft across skin prep, hair, and natural-finish styling.
- Experiment with techniques that keep our creative edge sharp.
- Build an image library featuring real people you will also spot in our chair and on our feed.

What is next
Final edits are underway, and we will be rolling out photos soon. Keep an eye on our Instagram and Facebook for the gallery drop, and for our next model call coming later this Summer. If you have ever wondered what it is like to step in front of the camera with us, this is your sign.
Thank you to our four models for trusting the process and bringing your whole selves. You are the reason Faces of H&B exists!
